Alex Hawkinson
Alex Hawkinson brings over 25 years of diverse experience as a technology entrepreneur, business executive, and thought leader. With a background in founding and operating multiple companies, he has cultivated a deep understanding of innovative product development and business growth across different scales. His expertise spans Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), SaaS/cloud-based software, and mobile applications, both in consumer and enterprise contexts. Hawkinson serves as a director at several companies focused on bringing the power of AI to essential products and services for millions of consumers, including iFIT, BrightAI, Efficient, OurSky, CSC ServiceWorks, Pelsis, Strikepoint, and Mural 365. Previously, Alex founded SmartThings, a leading IoT platform acquired by Samsung in 2014. During his tenure, SmartThings expanded globally, serving more than 200 million customers and fostering a vibrant ecosystem of developers and device makers. Outside of work, Alex is actively involved in his family and community, enjoying outdoor activities and pursuing his passion for astrophotography. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
